Job Description

The Senior Estimator - Commercial Construction will:

  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed construction estimates.
  • Develop budgets for negotiated commercial construction projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for scope completeness.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Participate in preconstruction meetings with clients, design teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and operations teams.
  • Support business development efforts through pricing strategy and proposal development.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Estimator - Commercial Construction should have:

  • 5+ years of commercial building and construction estimating experience preferred.
  • Experience estimating negotiated and/or design-build projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction means and methods.
  • Ability to prepare conceptual budgets as well as detailed estimates.
  • Experience reviewing plans, specifications, and subcontractor proposals.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-perform construction experience is a plus.
  • Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related degree preferred.
