Job Description

  • Lead the preparation of conceptual, schematic, design development, and final construction estimates.
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify project scope and requirements.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals.
  • Develop quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analyses.
  • Manage multiple bids and estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Prepare bid packages, scope sheets, and project qualification documents.
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and preconstruction presentations.
  • Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to ensure smooth project turnover following award.
  • Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Assist leadership in strategic planning, business development, and market analysis.
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating processes, systems, and best practices.

The Successful Applicant

  • A track record of winning profitable construction projects.
  • Strong commercial construction estimating experience with a General Contractor.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and cost analysis skills.
  • The ability to build trust with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Confidence presenting budgets, assumptions, and recommendations to leadership teams.
  • Experience leading complex pursuits from conceptual pricing through final bid submission.
  • A collaborative approach and desire to mentor junior estimators.
  • Strong knowledge of the Central Pennsylvania construction market.
