The organization continues to invest in automation, advanced fabrication technologies, and the development of its people to support long-term growth and success.Job DescriptionLead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex machine design and automation projects.Manage multidisciplinary project teams, including engineering, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.Design custom industrial equipment, automation systems, robotics, tooling, and motion control solutions.Develop process documentation, technical standards, and engineering calculations.Create and review detailed mechanical designs and 3D models using CAD software.Prepare project proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments.Collaborate directly with customers to understand requirements and develop technical solutions.Participate in design reviews and project meetings to ensure successful outcomes.Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend process and design enhancements.Travel occasionally to customer facilities and project locations as needed.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.8+ years of machine design experience within industrial or automated manufacturing environments.Strong experience designing custom equipment including robotics, tooling, servo systems, and automated machinery.Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and mechanical design documentation.Demonstrated success leading complex engineering projects from concept to completion.Experience developing process documentation, engineering standards, and technical specifications.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.Excellent communication and client-facing skills.Proven ability to mentor team members and collaborate across functions.Familiarity with OSHA standards and engineering safety best practices.Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility preferred.
