Job Description

  • Lead and execute factory-wide automation initiatives across manufacturing operations.
  • Design, implement, and optimize electromechanical automation systems to improve productivity, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Develop, program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-controlled equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and drive continuous improvement projects throughout the facility.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, production, and engineering teams to deliver strategic manufacturing improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership on automation projects from planning through commissioning and validation.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend technologies that improve throughput, quality, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Support equipment upgrades, capital projects, and facility expansion initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff while serving as a key automation subject matter expert.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on engineering priorities, resource planning, and automation strategy.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within established timelines.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Approximately 8-10 years of engineering experience, although strong candidates with alternative experience levels will be considered.
  • Proven experience delivering factory automation projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial controls, automation systems, and electromechanical equipment.
  • Experience implementing manufacturing process improvements and automation technologies.
  • Ability to lead projects independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong communication abilities with experience collaborating across departments and leadership levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and the ability to serve as a key contributor within the engineering organization.
