Job Description

  • Lead and drive manufacturing process development and continuous improvement initiatives across production operations.
  • Design, develop, implement, and enhance tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing solutions used for assembly, inspection, testing, and handling of precision hardware.
  • Create, revise, and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and production specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and hands-on training to production teams and supervisors.
  • Develop strategic process improvement plans focused on quality, cost optimization, and delivery performance.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, supply chain, program management, and operations teams to identify requirements and implement process enhancements.
  • Analyze manufacturing capabilities and introduce process controls, including statistical process control methodologies where appropriate.
  • Support manufacturing planning activities to ensure efficient use of materials, labor, and production resources.
  • Identify, specify, and procure tooling and equipment required to support production objectives.
  • Evaluate opportunities for new equipment and technologies that improve operational efficiency and product quality.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience in low- to medium-volume production environments.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience working with manufacturing execution systems (MES), with exposure to Tulip considered advantageous.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and standard engineering tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to train, mentor, and collaborate across multiple departments.

Preferred experience:

  • Cleanroom manufacturing environments.
  • Optical alignment processes.
  • Thermal and vacuum system applications.
  • Qualification, aerospace, or flight hardware manufacturing programs.
