Job Description

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to increase yield, reduce waste, improve quality, and optimize production performance.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and implement corrective actions to resolve process and production challenges.
  • Mentor and support production personnel to drive consistency, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and waste reduction.
  • Specify, assess, and maintain manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures to ensure reliable operation and safe performance.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and technical reports.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, research, and production teams to support new product launches and manufacturing scale-up activities.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality management systems, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support safety initiatives across manufacturing operations.
  • Utilize statistical analysis and data-driven methodologies to improve process capability and product quality.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Ceramics Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Several years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience within advanced manufacturing, injection molding, composites, ceramics, casting, or similar process-driven environments.
  • Experience improving manufacturing processes through data analysis, statistical methods, and root-cause investigation.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, and 5S methodologies.
  • Experience utilizing SPC, DOE, and other process optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and tooling or fixture design.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, quality, and production teams.
  • Prior experience working within regulated manufacturing or aerospace-related environments is advantageous.
  • A proactive mindset, leadership capability, and a commitment to continuous improvement and safety.
