Job Description

  • Take full responsibility for the successful delivery of ground-up commercial construction projects from preconstruction through turnover.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost control, procurement, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Lead and develop project teams including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection, contract management, performance, and project execution.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Drive project buyout activities and oversee all phases of project planning and execution.
  • Regularly report project performance and financial status to executive leadership.
  • Act as a mentor and leader within the business, helping develop future construction professionals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic project and operational initiatives across the region.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Project Manager should have:

  • Proven experience leading ground-up commercial construction projects valued between $20M and $50M+.
  • Strong background delivering projects within sectors such as K-12 education, higher education, healthcare, municipal, commercial, office, multifamily, judicial, or industrial construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage all phases of the project lifecycle including preconstruction, buyout, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout.
  • Experience leading client-facing relationships and managing project financial performance.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing project teams.
  • Proficiency with construction management technologies including Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and/or Primavera P6.
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with executive leadership.
  • Must be based in or willing to work within the Charlotte, NC area.
