We're seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer with deep expertise in CMM programming, advanced metrology, and measurement system development. This role will serve as the organization's technical authority for inspection technologies, helping modernize and automate measurement processes while supporting manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams.

Job Description

CMM Programming & Metrology Leadership

  • Serve as the company's primary CMM programming and metrology expert.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain advanced CMM programs using Hexagon PC-DMIS software.
  • Create innovative measurement strategies for complex components and assemblies.
  • Provide technical leadership on metrology best practices and measurement technologies.



Inspection Process Improvement

  • Partner directly with inspectors and quality team members to evaluate current inspection workflows.
  • Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to improve inspection throughput and efficiency.
  • Reduce manual inspection activities through automation and process optimization.
  • Develop scalable measurement solutions that improve consistency and repeatability.



Measurement Systems Development

  • Implement and optimize CMM, optical measurement, and other advanced inspection systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend new metrology technologies to improve capability and productivity.
  • Support the validation and qualification of measurement systems.
  • Establish robust measurement methods for new and existing products.



Statistical Analysis & Measurement Validation

  • Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies.
  • Lead Gauge R&R evaluations and capability assessments.
  • Develop sampling plans and inspection strategies using statistical quality methods.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to improve measurement accuracy and effectiveness.



Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support manufacturing and engineering teams with dimensional analysis and process investigations.
  • Participate in new product introduction activities to ensure inspection readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Train inspectors and quality personnel on measurement techniques and metrology best practices.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical field.
  • Strong hands-on CMM programming experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Hexagon PC-DMIS software.
  • Advanced metrology and dimensional inspection experience.
  • Experience with optical measurement systems and automated inspection technologies.
  • Strong understanding of hand metrology tools and dimensional inspection methods.
  • Experience conducting MSA and Gauge R&R studies.
  • Knowledge of statistical quality methods, sampling plans, and process capability analysis.
  • Ability to independently develop creative measurement solutions for complex inspection challenges.
  • Proven track record improving inspection efficiency, throughput, and measurement system performance.
