Job Description

As a Senior Superintendent, you'll be the on-site leader responsible for managing all field operations on large-scale mission critical and data center projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead daily site operations from mobilization through commissioning and turnover
  • Manage and drive project milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of complex mission critical facilities
  • Coordinate shutdowns, tie-ins, and critical path activities with minimal operational risk
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure field compliance
  • Lead pull planning sessions and short-interval scheduling efforts with trade partners
  • Monitor labor productivity, manpower forecasts, and resource allocation across all construction phases
  • Identify schedule constraints and implement recovery plans to mitigate delays
  • Oversee quality control processes and ensure all work meets project specifications and client expectations
  • Facilitate preconstruction planning, logistics coordination, and site mobilization activities
  • Support commissioning, startup, integrated systems testing, and turnover procedures
  • Ensure adherence to mission critical construction best practices and owner requirements
  • Coordinate material deliveries and equipment installations to support project sequencing
  • Track and verify completion of punch list items through project closeout
  • Manage site logistics, security, and access control in active construction environments
  • Conduct constructability reviews and assist in resolving design conflicts in the field
  • Interface directly with clients, owners, inspectors, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and incident investigations when required
  • Monitor and enforce quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) standards throughout construction
  • Support procurement planning by identifying long-lead equipment and potential supply chain risks
  • Ensure proper execution of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and controls installations
  • Maintain readiness for client audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
  • Champion Lean Construction methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
  • Evaluate field performance and provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to project team members
  • Participate in project budgeting discussions and cost-control efforts related to field operations
  • Drive a culture focused on safety, quality, operational excellence, and client satisfaction

The Successful Applicant

The successful Senior Superintendent should have:

  • Strong, comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, safety regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring every project phase-from planning to commissioning-meets the highest standards of quality, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team‑building skills, with the ability to guide diverse internal teams, manage subcontractor performance, and collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, vendors, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Advanced problem‑solving abilities, demonstrating the capacity to anticipate issues, navigate technical and logistical challenges, and make sound decisions quickly in a fast‑paced, dynamic project environment.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents, ensuring full alignment across scope, schedule, and execution requirements.
  • Strong aptitude for maintaining project control-keeping timelines on track, managing budgets, mitigating risks, and ensuring seamless communication throughout the construction lifecycle.
