A growing commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead projects throughout the Southeast. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ground-up construction, along with experience managing interior renovations and fit-outs within active environments. This role will focus heavily on ground-up retail and medical office building (MOB) projects.

Job Description

  • Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestone achievement.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract documents, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular site meetings with owners, architects, and project teams.
  • Oversee project logistics, site safety, inspections, and quality control.
  • Identify and proactively resolve field issues to maintain project momentum.
  • Partner closely with Project Managers to ensure successful project execution.

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Proven experience managing ground-up retail and medical office building projects.
  • Additional experience with interior renovations, tenant improvements, and occupied-space construction preferred.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, sequencing, safety, and field operations.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the Southeast.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with construction technology and project management software.
