We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a growing preconstruction team in Raleigh, NC. This role is ideal for a strong conceptual estimator who can develop budgets from early design concepts through completed plans while supporting complex, design-build construction projects.

Job Description

  • Develop conceptual estimates from preliminary sketches, narratives, and early design documents.
  • Prepare detailed project budgets and cost analyses throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, project management, and field teams to support design-build pursuits.
  • Evaluate self-performed work scopes, including concrete and structural concrete packages.
  • Analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing while ensuring competitive and accurate cost projections.
  • Support preconstruction strategy, value engineering, and risk assessment efforts.
  • Participate in client presentations and help position projects for successful execution.
  • Contribute to estimating efforts across healthcare, life sciences, assisted living, higher education, and other complex commercial projects.

The Successful Applicant

  • 8+ years of construction estimating experience.
  • Proven success developing conceptual and schematic estimates, not just hard-bid pricing.
  • Experience with design-build or negotiated delivery projects.
  • Strong background estimating complex commercial construction projects.
  • Healthcare, life science, assisted living, or similarly technical project experience required.
  • Exposure to concrete and structural concrete scopes strongly preferred.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated career stability with a consistent employment history.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and client-facing skills.
