Job Description

The Sr. Superintendent - Ground-Up Commercial - Bethesda, MD will be responsible for:

  • Lead all on-site construction activities for large-scale ground-up commercial and residential developments.
  • Oversee daily field operations, project schedules, subcontractor coordination, and quality control efforts.
  • Maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety, productivity, and overall project execution.
  • Manage and mentor Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and other site personnel.
  • Coordinate closely with project management teams, owners, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Drive projects through all phases of construction, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep work on track.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and client satisfaction throughout project delivery.
  • Provide leadership for project teams while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Report directly to senior field leadership and play a key role in delivering successful projects.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Sr. Superintendent - Ground-Up Commercial - Bethesda, MD should have:

  • 10+ years of construction experience with a strong emphasis on ground-up building projects.
  • Proven success leading new construction projects valued at $30M+ preferred.
  • Experience in multifamily, hospitality, mixed-use, office, higher education, or other large commercial developments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day field operations and project execution.
  • Must have completed at least three ground-up construction projects in a lead field capacity.
  • Strong leadership experience supervising field teams, subcontractors, and support staff.
  • Excellent communication, scheduling, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Stable work history with demonstrated career progression and long-term tenure.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Experience balancing project demands while leading multiple field personnel effectively.
