Job Description



Commercial Superintendent - Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site leadership and foster a strong culture of safety, accountability, quality, and operational excellence throughout all phases of commercial construction projects.
  • Manage daily field operations, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain productivity and achieve project milestones.
  • Lead subcontractor and site coordination meetings, proactively addressing challenges and driving project progress.
  • Develop and maintain short-term and long-term construction schedules, ensuring all trades are properly sequenced and aligned with project objectives.
  • Monitor quality control efforts and oversee inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements, building codes, and company standards.
  • Identify and resolve field-related issues, working collaboratively with project management, design teams, owners, and trade partners to maintain project momentum.
  • Manage site logistics, material deliveries, manpower planning, and jobsite organization to support efficient project execution.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, track project progress, and communicate schedule impacts, safety concerns, and field conditions to key stakeholders.
  • Serve as the General Contractor's primary field representative, building strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.

The Successful Applicant



Commercial Superintendent - Successful Candidate Profile:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent within commercial construction, with a proven track record of successfully leading projects from ground-up construction through final turnover.
  • Experience overseeing a variety of commercial projects, including office, retail, mixed-use, industrial, institutional, and other complex developments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, site logistics, scheduling, safety compliance, and the coordination of multiple trades in the field.
  • Ability to review, interpret, and execute work in accordance with construction drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, and other project documentation.
  • Demonstrated success managing daily field operations, subcontractor performance, quality control, and project schedules to ensure on-time project delivery.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate field personnel while maintaining strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and trade partners.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify challenges and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Strong commitment to jobsite safety and experience fostering a culture focused on incident prevention, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • OSHA certification and relevant industry certifications are preferred; a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required.
