Construction Superintendent responsible for managing commercial interior renovations, tenant improvements, office build-outs, retail, healthcare, and select ground-up projects throughout Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Oversees field operations, subcontractors, schedules, safety, quality control, inspections, and client relations to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to company standards.

Our client is a growing General Contractor in South Florida with this position focused in Palm Beach and Martin Counties. They focus ground up and interiors projects for (doctors offices, religious facilities, restaurants and retail).

Job Description

Project Execution & Field Leadership

  • Manage all day-to-day field operations for commercial interior and ground-up construction projects.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestone and completion dates are achieved.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maximize productivity and workflow.
  • Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and construction documents for accuracy and constructability.
  • Proactively identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and schedule impacts.



Safety Management

  • Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, site inspections, and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite environment.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with all safety requirements.



Quality Control

  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and building codes.
  • Perform quality control inspections throughout all phases of construction.
  • Coordinate and manage punch list completion and project closeout activities.
  • Maintain high standards for workmanship and project presentation.



Schedule & Cost Control

  • Work closely with Project Managers to maintain project budgets and schedules.
  • Identify potential delays and implement corrective action plans.
  • Monitor labor productivity and subcontractor performance.
  • Assist in tracking material deliveries and long-lead procurement items.



Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, landlords, and inspectors.
  • Provide regular project status updates.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with municipal requirements.
  • Foster positive relationships with owners, tenants, and project stakeholders.



Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate daily reports documenting manpower, work completed, weather conditions, deliveries, and project activities.
  • Manage site logs, safety documentation, and inspection records.
  • Utilize project management software to update schedules, field reports, and project documentation.

The Successful Applicant



Required

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent managing commercial construction projects.
  • Strong experience with commercial interiors, tenant improvements, renovations, and occupied-space construction.
  • Experience overseeing ground-up commercial construction projects.
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods, sequencing, building systems, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, and schedules.
  • Knowledge of Florida building codes and local permitting processes.
  • Proven ability to lead field teams and maintain project schedules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to cover Broward and Palm Beach County
  • Experience with Procore, MS Project or similar software

Preferred

  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
