Job Description

The Responsibilities of a Superintendent:

  • Lead all day-to-day field operations for ground-up commercial construction projects
  • Manage projects ranging from $20M to $140M in value
  • Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, architects, and owners throughout construction
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion
  • Conduct constructability reviews and identify potential project risks
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Maintain daily logs, site documentation, and project reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all quality control standards and project requirements
  • Manage material procurement, delivery schedules, and site logistics
  • Enforce and maintain all jobsite safety protocols and OSHA compliance
  • Drive project execution from mobilization through substantial completion
  • Partner closely with Project Managers to achieve project goals and client satisfaction

The Successful Applicant

The successful Superintendent should have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a general contractor
  • Proven experience leading ground-up commercial projects valued at $20M+
  • Ability to independently run large-scale projects up to $40M
  • Experience within K-12, municipal, community, government, or similar commercial sectors preferred
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, and field operations
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification required
  • Proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Must be willing to work throughout Northern Virginia and surrounding DC Metro project locations
