Job Description

The Superintendent will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing all day-to-day field operations for ground-up commercial construction projects.
  • Leading project execution from site mobilization through final completion.
  • Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, owners, architects, and project stakeholders to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
  • Monitoring and enforcing project safety standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Conducting constructability reviews and proactively resolving field issues.
  • Managing project schedules, material procurement, and subcontractor workflows.
  • Maintaining daily logs, project reports, inspections, and quality control documentation.
  • Partnering closely with the Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project teams throughout the lifecycle of each project.

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Superintendent should have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent with a commercial general contractor.
  • Proven experience leading ground-up construction projects valued at $20M+.
  • Ability to independently manage large-scale projects, ideally up to $40M.
  • Experience within K-12, municipal, community, government, or similar commercial markets.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and field operations.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification required.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and other construction management software.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel throughout Northern Virginia and surrounding project locations.
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
