Our client is looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale ground-up construction projects throughout the Washington, D.C. Metro and Northern Virginia markets. Job Description

The responsibilities of a Superintendent:

  • Manage all phases of ground-up construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client relationships
  • Coordinate with field teams, design partners, consultants, and ownership groups
  • Lead project planning efforts to ensure quality, safety, and schedule objectives are achieved
  • Monitor project financial performance and proactively manage risks and opportunities
  • Review contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve issues and maintain project momentum
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project engineers and support staff
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects ranging from approximately $30M to $200M+
  • Maintain strong communication with all project stakeholders throughout the construction lifecycle

The Successful Applicant

A successful Superintendent should have:

  • 5-10 years of commercial construction management experience
  • Experience managing ground-up construction projects
  • Project experience in sectors such as commercial, multifamily, healthcare, education, public works, hospitality, industrial, or related markets
  • Demonstrated experience with projects valued at $30M or greater
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling, and project management skills
  • Ability to lead diverse project teams and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to work on projects throughout the Washington, D.C. Metro and Northern Virginia regions
