Job Description

The Superintendent's Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of project execution, including contract documents, scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and team coordination.
  • Partner with preconstruction teams on estimating, project planning, means and methods, and scheduling strategies.
  • Manage project teams, subcontractors, and field operations to ensure efficient workflow and successful delivery.
  • Implement and enforce safety, quality control, and environmental compliance programs while maintaining OSHA standards.
  • Monitor construction progress, inspect workmanship, and ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and trade partners.
  • Manage project documentation, daily reports, schedules, procurement tracking, and field coordination.
  • Utilize CPM and Lean scheduling practices to maintain timelines and develop recovery plans when needed.
  • Lead coordination meetings, pre-planning efforts, and process improvements to enhance productivity and project outcomes.
  • Oversee punch lists, closeout activities, and final project turnover.

The Successful Applicant

The Successful Superintendent

  • 5-7+ years of lead Site Superintendent experience
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field
  • OSHA 30 certificate or ability to attain it within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience with education projects
  • Experience with master scheduling
  • Proficient in MS Office Platforms and Procore
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and drive project schedules
  • Knowledge of all elements of commercial construction and understanding of skilled trades.
