Job Description

As a Building and Construction Superintendent in Rochester. NY , you will:

  • Manage all day-to-day field operations on assigned projects
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and onsite personnel
  • Maintain project schedules and ensure milestone completion
  • Lead jobsite safety initiatives and enforce OSHA compliance
  • Conduct daily site walks and quality inspections
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
  • Coordinate material deliveries and site logistics
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively
  • Communicate project progress with Project Managers, clients, and stakeholders
  • Maintain daily reports and project documentation
  • Support punch list completion, turnover, and project closeout activities

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or in a field leadership role
  • Strong commercial construction experience
  • Proven ability to lead subcontractors and manage onsite teams
  • Experience maintaining project schedules and driving productivity
  • Thorough understanding of construction sequencing, methods, and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Experience with commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, education, or municipal projects preferred
