Job Description

As a Building and Construction Superintendent in Syracuse, NY, you will:

  • Manage all day-to-day field operations on assigned projects
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and onsite personnel
  • Develop and maintain project schedules
  • Lead jobsite safety initiatives and ensure OSHA compliance
  • Conduct daily site inspections and quality control reviews
  • Monitor project progress and proactively resolve field challenges
  • Review plans, specifications, and construction documents
  • Coordinate deliveries, logistics, and workflow sequencing
  • Maintain daily reports and project documentation
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, clients, architects, and consultants
  • Support punch-list completion, commissioning, and project closeout activities

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial construction
  • Proven success managing field operations from start to finish
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors
  • Thorough knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and site logistics
  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience with healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, or public-sector projects preferred
  • Proficiency with construction management technology and reporting tools
