Job Description

The Superintendent's Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all field operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.
  • Develop and maintain cost-loaded project schedules to track progress and meet key milestones.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, subcontractors, and project documentation, including drawings and specifications.
  • Manage field labor and equipment costs while assisting with monthly cost projections and forecasting.
  • Identify project risks proactively and implement solutions to minimize schedule and budget impacts.
  • Interpret contract documents, plans, and specifications to anticipate issues and maintain compliance.
  • Enforce quality standards by coordinating expectations with subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safety-focused job site.
  • Support the Project Manager with monthly pay applications and project billing documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain daily reports documenting job site activities, progress, manpower, and project conditions.

The Successful Applicant

The Successful Superintendent:

  • 5+ years of experience serving as the Lead Superintendent on ground-up commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong concrete construction experience is required, including oversight of structural concrete operations, sequencing, and coordination with self-perform crews and subcontractors.
  • Experience leading and coordinating self-perform crews is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in developing and managing 3- to 6-week look-ahead schedules; experience managing or updating master project schedules is a plus.
  • Background managing industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, education, or commercial construction projects.
  • Proven success overseeing projects valued at $10M+ from sitework through project completion.
