Job Description

As a Building and Construction Superintendent in Syracuse, NY, you will:

  • Lead all day-to-day field operations on active construction projects
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and onsite personnel
  • Maintain project schedules and monitor construction progress
  • Enforce safety standards and OSHA compliance across the jobsite
  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure adherence to plans and specifications
  • Manage site logistics, material deliveries, and workforce coordination
  • Lead subcontractor and project coordination meetings
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and ownership teams
  • Maintain daily reports, schedules, and project documentation
  • Oversee punch-list completion and project closeout activities

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Building and Construction Superintendent in Syracuse, NYcandidate will have:

  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience
  • Proven success managing projects from start to finish
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities



Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant multi-family construction experience
  • Experience overseeing apartment complexes, affordable housing, or mixed-use developments
  • Ground-up construction experience
  • Experience managing wood-frame, podium, or concrete residential projects
  • Strong understanding of residential building systems and finishes
  • Stable work history with reputable contractors or developers



Multi-family construction experience is highly valued for this position. Candidates with a proven track record delivering residential communities, apartment developments, and mixed-use projects will be especially attractive.
