Job Description

As a Building and Construction Superintendent in Rochester, Ny, you will:

  • Manage all day-to-day jobsite operations
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
  • Develop and maintain project schedules
  • Enforce safety policies and OSHA compliance
  • Monitor quality control and ensure work meets project specifications
  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings
  • Review plans, drawings, and project documentation
  • Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, and workforce activities
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively
  • Maintain daily reports and project records
  • Track project milestones and communicate progress to project teams
  • Oversee punch-list activities and project closeout

The Successful Applicant

A successful Building and Construction Superintendent in Rochester, Ny, should have:

  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial construction
  • Proven success managing projects from groundbreaking through completion
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Thorough understanding of jobsite safety requirements



Preferred Qualifications

  • Multi-family construction experience
  • Experience delivering apartment, mixed-use, or residential developments
  • Background in masonry, carpentry, or another skilled trade
  • Experience working for established regional contractors
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Candidates who have progressed from the trades into field leadership roles and possess strong multi-family construction experience will be especially successful in this role.
