A well-established Southeast commercial general contractor is looking to add an experienced Traveling Superintendent to its field team. This position is ideal for a Superintendent with a strong combination of ground-up and interior construction experience who is comfortable traveling throughout the Southeast. The project portfolio is diverse, with work spanning retail, financial, medical office, healthcare, office, restaurant, and other commercial sectors.

Job Description

  • Lead ground-up and interior commercial projects from mobilization through final turnover.
  • Manage day-to-day field operations across projects throughout the Southeast.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, manpower, materials, and site logistics.
  • Maintain and drive the construction schedule, ensuring key milestones and completion dates are achieved.
  • Oversee projects across gas station/convenience, retail, banking, MOB/healthcare, and broader commercial construction.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to proactively resolve scheduling, constructability, and field-related challenges.
  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals to ensure work meets project requirements.
  • Maintain high standards around jobsite safety, quality control, and subcontractor performance.
  • Lead inspections, punch lists, closeout, and turnover.
  • Represent the GC professionally with clients, ownership groups, design teams, and trade partners.

The Successful Applicant

  • Strong Superintendent experience within commercial construction
  • Combination of ground-up and interior build-out/renovation experience
  • Experience with gas stations/convenience stores, retail, MOB/medical, financial/bank, or similar commercial projects
  • Experience working with repeat or national commercial clients is highly desirable
  • Comfortable managing fast-paced projects and aggressive schedules
  • Willing and able to travel throughout the Southeast
  • Strong scheduling, subcontractor management, and communication skills
