Job Description

The Vice President of Development will report directly to the senior leadership team and serve as the market lead for the Twin Cities region. This role will focus on sourcing new opportunities, advancing development projects, and building key market relationships.

  • Lead sourcing efforts throughout the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, building a robust pipeline of multifamily development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, brokers, municipalities, utility providers, and development consultants.
  • Monitor market conditions, entitlement trends, zoning activity, and competitive developments to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Underwrite development opportunities, conduct due diligence, and present investment recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Negotiate land acquisitions and development agreements while coordinating with legal, engineering, and consulting partners.
  • Oversee entitlement, design coordination, and pre-construction activities through key development milestones.
  • Act as the senior market representative, enhancing the firm's local profile and supporting continued platform growth.

The Successful Applicant

For the Vice President of Development we are seeking:

  • 10+ years of multifamily development experience within the Twin Cities market.
  • Demonstrated success sourcing, underwriting, and executing multifamily development projects.
  • Strong understanding of local municipalities, entitlement processes, zoning requirements, and development stakeholders.
  • Advanced financial modelling and underwriting skills with the ability to assess opportunities from both strategic and execution perspectives.
  • Experience negotiating complex real estate transactions and development agreements.
  • Proven ability to manage consultants, design teams, entitlement processes, and early-stage project execution.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently in a lean, high-accountability environment.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with the credibility to represent the organisation externally.
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related discipline preferred.
