Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support to the Global Markets businesses, specifically focusing on equity derivatives, derivatives, synthetic prime brokerage and ISDA/MCA documentation
  • Work closely with the ISDA documentation team to draft and negotiate ISDA agreements, Master Confirmation Agreements, custody agreements, total return swaps, etc.
  • Stay abreast of and advise on relevant regulations and regulatory framework
  • Work closely with other members of the legal team on ad-hoc projects
  • Work closely with and aid in the management of outside counsel

The Successful Applicant

  • JD from US ABA accredited law school
  • 3+ years of experience ideally gained in-house supporting the prime services/equity derivatives desk of an investment bank, with prior experience at an AmLaw 100 firm highly preferred
  • US State Bar Admission
  • Direct experience with equity derivatives and synthetic prime brokerage services, including negotiation of Master Confirmation Agreements
  • Experience drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of equity derivatives matters
  • Strong understanding of ISDA framework
  • Excellent drafting and negotiating skills
  • Ability to simplify legal advice for multiple stakeholders within a fast paced business
