Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager will report to the Project Manager and play a key role in the successful delivery of large-scale data center construction projects. This role combines project coordination, cost management, subcontractor engagement, and field support to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

  • Manage day-to-day project activities under the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Track project progress and assist with the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
  • Support project budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and estimate development.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and coordinate bids from subcontractors and material suppliers.
  • Assist with change order management, contract administration, and invoice processing.
  • Work closely with Superintendents and field teams to monitor project execution and resolve issues impacting schedule or budget.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

The Successful Applicant

For the Assistant Project Manager - we are seeking:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience within the commercial construction industry.
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale industrial, mission-critical, advanced technology, or data centre projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of construction project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated professional with a high degree of accountability, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a field-based construction environment, including walking uneven terrain and working in varying weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including occasional weekend assignments, when project demands require.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively based on project assignments.
