Job Description

The Asset Manager is responsible for optimizing the financial and operational performance of a multifamily portfolio. This role partners closely with property management, development, and capital partners to execute business plans, drive NOI growth, and maximize asset value across the investment lifecycle.Asset Strategy & Financial Performance

  • Own asset-level business plans, including revenue growth, expense management, and capital strategy execution
  • Monitor portfolio performance against budget and underwriting; identify variances and implement corrective actions
  • Analyze monthly financials, KPIs, and operating reports to drive NOI and asset value
  • Maintain and update asset-level financial models and forecasts



Portfolio Oversight & Operations

  • Partner with property management teams to optimize leasing strategy, occupancy, rent growth, and operating efficiency
  • Conduct regular site visits and operational reviews to ensure execution of business plans
  • Evaluate marketing, pricing, and operational initiatives to enhance performance
  • Drive expense control initiatives without compromising asset quality or resident experience



Capital Projects & Value Creation

  • Collaborate with development/capital projects teams on renovations, repositioning, and CapEx execution
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and ROI to ensure alignment with underwriting
  • Identify and execute value-add opportunities across the portfolio



Investor Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly reporting packages to ownership, equity partners, and internal leadership
  • Communicate performance updates, risks, and strategic recommendations
  • Support investor meetings and investment committee presentations



Market Intelligence & Investment Strategy

  • Track market trends, comps, and economic drivers influencing asset performance
  • Support acquisition, disposition, and refinancing strategies through analysis and recommendations
  • Assist with hold/sell analysis and long-term portfolio planning

The Successful Applicant

A successful Asset Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field
  • 3-8+ years of experience in asset management, real estate finance, or property operations (multifamily preferred)
  • Strong understanding of property-level operations and real estate financial drivers
  • Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills
  • Ability to interpret financial statements, budgets, and investment metrics (NOI, IRR, cash flow)
  • Experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar systems preferred
  • Exposure to development or redevelopment projects - ideally in the residential sector
