Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction will:

  • Assist Project Managers with project execution from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, project logs, and documentation.
  • Support project scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Review plans, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate communication between project teams, owners, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Participate in project meetings and occasional site visits.
  • Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting.
  • Help ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and meeting quality standards.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction should have:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Alternatively, 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, or Assistant Project Manager (exprience in Madison or Milwaukee preferred but not required)
  • Basic understanding of commercial building and construction processes and project delivery.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
  • Experience within healthcare, commercial, industrial, or renovation projects is a plus.
  • Exposure to construction software and project management systems.
