Job Description

As an Assistant Project Manager - Construction - New Haven, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting Project Managers throughout all phases of project delivery
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and project cost tracking
  • Managing RFIs, submittals, and change order logs
  • Coordinating subcontractors, consultants, architects, and engineers
  • Assisting with procurement and contract administration
  • Maintaining project schedules and milestone updates
  • Tracking project documentation and reporting requirements
  • Participating in project meetings and preparing meeting minutes
  • Supporting field teams and Superintendents with project coordination
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Monitoring project progress and assisting with issue resolution
  • Supporting project closeout and turnover activities

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in Project Engineering, Project Coordination, or Assistant Project Management
  • Experience with either commercial, residential, multifamily, mixed-use, ground-up, renovation, or custom home construction projects
  • Understanding of construction documentation and project controls
  • Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and scheduling
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar software preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Desire to advance into a Project Manager role
