Job Description

As an Assistant Project Manager - Construction - New London, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting Project Managers throughout all phases of project delivery
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and project cost tracking
  • Managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, consultants, architects, and engineers
  • Assisting with procurement and contract administration
  • Maintaining project schedules and milestone updates
  • Supporting field operations and coordinating with Superintendents
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Tracking project progress and preparing project reports
  • Utilizing construction management software to maintain project records and communication
  • Participating in project meetings and documenting action items
  • Assisting with project closeout and turnover activities

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in Project Engineering, Assistant Project Management, or Project Coordination
  • Experience with ground-up construction projects and/or civil construction projects
  • Strong proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera P6, Viewpoint, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, budgeting, scheduling, and project controls
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced project environment
  • Desire to advance into a Project Manager role
  • Former athletic experience is strongly preferred but not required, as candidates with athletic backgrounds often bring a strong work ethic, competitive mindset, leadership ability, accountability, and team-first mentality
