Our client is a well established commercial construction firm serving the DMV with a strong track record across retail, self storage, automotive, grocery, education, public sector, and tenant fit out projects. With a team of approximately 75 employees and $350M in annual revenue, the company has continued to grow at roughly 20% year over year while maintaining a flexible and entrepreneurial culture.

Projects typically range from 20,000 to 60,000 square feet and are valued around $20M to $60M, with project timelines averaging 6 to 12 months. The company provides preconstruction, design build, and project management services and has completed projects for several nationally recognized retail, automotive, grocery, and commercial brands.

Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager - Diverse Projects - Maryland will be responsible for:

  • Support Project Managers throughout all phases of construction projects
  • Assist with project scheduling, coordination, and day-to-day project administration
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and consultants
  • Assist with contract administration and procurement activities
  • Track project budgets, commitments, and cost reports
  • Help manage permitting, inspections, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor project progress and communicate updates to the project team
  • Assist with project buyout and subcontractor management
  • Support Quality Assurance and Quality Control initiatives
  • Maintain accurate project records and construction software databases
  • Assist with project closeout documentation and turnover procedures

The Successful Applicant

The Assistant Project Manager - Diverse Projects - Maryland should have:

  • 2+ years of project management experience with a general contractor
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and construction coordination
  • Proficient in Procore, MS Apps and other project management software
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving mindset
