Our client is a well-established General Contractor headquartered in Chicago's western suburbs with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality Education and Municipal construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area. With a growing backlog of work and a culture centered around mentorship, collaboration, and employee development, they are seeking an ambitious Assistant Project Manager looking to advance their construction management career.

Job Description

  • Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day management of construction projects.
  • Help coordinate subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Review and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Support budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and project reporting functions.
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain meeting minutes and action items.
  • Coordinate project schedules and monitor key milestones to ensure timely completion.
  • Assist with contract administration and procurement activities.
  • Partner with field teams to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, warranty documentation, and final deliverables.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-5 years of experience in commercial construction project management.
  • Experience on education, municipal, public sector, or commercial projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
