Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager will:

  • Assist Project Managers through all phases of construction, from estimating and preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, field teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Support the management of multiple commercial renovation and interior construction projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare, track, and manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes, and project correspondence.
  • Coordinate with field teams and superintendents to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.
  • Monitor project-related tasks requiring follow-up and proactively drive items to completion.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams on subcontractor invoicing, payment processing, and project financial administration.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Review project drawings, estimates, schedules, and purchasing strategies to develop a comprehensive understanding of project goals.
  • Contribute ideas that improve project execution, team efficiency, and company processes.
  • Support projects including commercial interiors, restaurant buildouts, hospitality renovations, office repositioning projects, commercial kitchens, and specialty construction work.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Project Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of construction project management, assistant project management, or related experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
