The Business Immigration Paralegal will support attorneys in preparing and filing employment-based immigration petitions and applications. This role involves ensuring accuracy and compliance with immigration regulations while working closely with clients and attorneys.
  • Hybrid role - 3 days a week in office
  • Report directly to Partner for Business Immigration group

This mid-sized law firm firm is focused in business and commercial law. The firm has over 100 attorneys across their US offices. They are headquartered in NYC.

Job Description

  • Prepare and file employment-based immigration petitions, including H-1B, L-1, and PERM applications.
  • Assist with the preparation of immigrant and non-immigrant visa applications.
  • Conduct case research and gather required documentation from clients.
  • Draft legal correspondence and support attorneys with case management.
  • Ensure timely filing of all petitions and applications to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records and case files in compliance with legal standards.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates and answer inquiries regarding their cases.
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Business Immigration Paralegal should have:

  • 5+ years of business immigration law experience.
  • Strong knowledge of immigration laws and procedures, including H-1B, L-1, and PERM.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases efficiently.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting professional correspondence.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients and attorneys effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all work.
