Job Description

  • Design, evaluate, and modify ceramic molds and cores to meet manufacturing and customer requirements
  • Develop and optimize ceramic materials, formulations, and processing methods for investment casting applications
  • Provide technical expertise related to ceramic materials, manufacturability, and process performance
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality
  • Perform testing, analysis, and validation of ceramic materials and processes
  • Ensure compliance with internal specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards
  • Investigate process issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Support the introduction of new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Develop process documentation, standards, and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, yield, and operational performance

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of ceramic materials, processing techniques, and material characterization
  • Analytical mindset with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working with process improvement and quality control methodologies
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and manufacturing requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in investment casting or foundry operations
  • Knowledge of ceramic shell systems and core manufacturing processes
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and process control methodologies
  • Experience supporting new product introduction and process development initiatives
