Job Description

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee civil construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and procurement activities.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor construction progress and resolve technical, operational, and site-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and local building codes.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to maintain construction standards.
  • Prepare project reports, cost estimates, work plans, and progress updates for stakeholders.
  • Manage risk assessment and implement solutions to mitigate project delays and cost overruns.
  • Support contract administration, change orders, and project closeout activities.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience managing civil construction projects, including earthworks, roads, bridges, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to interpret and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Experience with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Knowledge of relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards and regulations.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving technical and operational challenges.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in project management and engineering software such as MS Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
  • Ability to monitor project progress, prepare reports, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality construction outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
