Job Description

  • Manage multiple site work and utility projects from award through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost projections, and manpower forecasts.
  • Lead project planning, buyout, procurement, and subcontractor management activities.
  • Oversee excavation, grading, drainage, water main, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer construction operations.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, utility companies, and municipalities.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project costs and productivity to ensure profitability goals are achieved.
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits and collaborate closely with Superintendents and Foremen.
  • Lead project meetings and provide status updates to clients and company leadership.
  • Ensure projects comply with safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company standards.
  • Manage project closeout activities, punch lists, and final owner turnover documentation.
  • Identify project risks and develop proactive solutions to minimize impacts on schedule and budget.

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within site development, heavy civil, underground utilities, or civil construction.
  • Strong knowledge of earthwork, excavation, grading, utility installation, and infrastructure construction.
  • Experience managing projects valued between $1M and $20M+.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans, utility profiles, and construction specifications.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Strong understanding of change order management and project financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with construction software such as HCSS, HeavyJob, Procore, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and coordinate field operations effectively.
  • Knowledge of NJDEP regulations, local municipal requirements, and utility construction practices is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
