Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage civil construction projects from commencement through completion. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while leading field teams and subcontractors.

Job Description

  • Manage all day-to-day field operations on civil construction projects.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, equipment operators, and site personnel.
  • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with schedules, budgets, specifications, and company standards.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and enforce all site health and safety procedures.
  • Conduct regular site meetings and provide progress updates to project stakeholders.
  • Review project drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate execution.
  • Monitor workforce productivity and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and labor resources.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues while minimizing project delays.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, reports, and site records.
  • Ensure all work complies with local regulations, environmental requirements, and industry standards.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Civil Superintendent should have:

  • Proven experience as a Superintendent within civil construction.
  • Strong background managing projects involving earthwork, underground utilities, roads, paving, grading, or site development.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience supervising field teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and project delivery.
  • Ability to interpret and review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality control.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and project reporting tools is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
