Job Description

Collections Manager Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships while handling payment negotiations, resolving account issues, and driving timely resolution of outstanding balances.
  • Work closely with sales, operations, and accounting teams to investigate billing discrepancies, resolve account concerns, and ensure payments are accurately processed.
  • Track and analyze accounts receivable performance metrics, including DSO, to support healthy cash flow and adherence to established payment terms.
  • Identify aging or high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate next steps, including escalation to leadership, legal resources, or third-party collection partners when needed.
  • Develop and maintain collection reporting and analytics, providing regular updates on account status, trends, and overall collections performance.
  • Manage a high volume of customer outreach through phone and email communications while maintaining detailed records of collection activity and account updates.
  • Partner with finance leadership and regional teams to implement consistent customer credit and payment practices across the organization.

The Successful Applicant

  • Corporate collections experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve payment issues and maintain customer relationships.
  • Experience managing or improving DSO.
  • Comfortable presenting data and updates to executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience running and interpreting collections reports.
  • Self-starter with excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
