Job Description

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Estimating, this Estimator will establish and lead estimating operations for a growing regional market while partnering closely with an experienced estimating team located elsewhere in Texas.

  • Lead preconstruction and estimating efforts for commercial construction projects throughout the Houston market.
  • Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates from initial project pursuit through final pricing.
  • Perform quantity take-offs, obtain subcontractor and vendor pricing, and build complete project estimates.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and project partners throughout the local market.
  • Participate in bid strategy discussions and collaborative estimate reviews with senior leadership.
  • Support both negotiated opportunities and competitive bid pursuits.
  • Serve as a key market representative, helping expand the company's presence and future growth within the region.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 5-7 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
  • Proven experience developing estimates from concept through final bid submission.
  • Strong knowledge of local subcontractor markets, material pricing, and construction costs within the Houston area.
  • Existing network of subcontractors, vendors, and industry contacts throughout the region.
  • Experience performing quantity take-offs and managing the full estimating process independently.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, ideally Autodesk ProEst or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated professional comfortable working autonomously while collaborating with remote teams.
  • Someone who is ready to move beyond a supporting role and take ownership of a market with leadership visibility and influence.
