The successful candidate will oversee multiple projects including K-12 schools, churches, synagogues, municipal buildings, and other community-focused facilities from preconstruction through closeout.

Job Description

As a Public Project Manager | Westchester County, NY, you will:

  • Manage multiple public and institutional construction projects simultaneously.
  • Oversee all phases of construction from budgeting and procurement through turnover and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and reporting.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, architects, engineers, and owners.
  • Administer contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Conduct project meetings and provide regular updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Maintain compliance with public-sector requirements, regulations, and documentation standards.
  • Work closely with field teams and superintendents to resolve project challenges proactively.
  • Foster strong relationships with school administrators, municipal representatives, and community stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Public Project Manager | Westchester County, NY should have:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor.
  • Proven experience managing public construction projects.
  • Background delivering K-12 schools, municipal facilities, churches, synagogues, or similar institutional buildings.
  • Strong understanding of public bidding, procurement, and construction administration processes.
  • Proficient in project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and contract management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of local Westchester construction market conditions is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
