The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader with strong commercial interiors experience, excellent subcontractor management skills, and a proven ability to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesProject LeadershipDirect and oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and short-interval work plans.Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.Ensure projects are executed according to plans, specifications, and contract requirements.Lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and daily site briefings.Identify and proactively resolve field issues to prevent schedule delays.Safety ManagementMaintain a safe and compliant jobsite in accordance with OSHA, NYC DOB, and company safety standards.Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.Monitor subcontractor compliance with all safety regulations.Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions when necessary.Quality ControlEnsure workmanship meets company quality standards and client expectations.Perform regular inspections and maintain punch lists throughout construction.Coordinate mock-ups, testing, and inspections.Oversee project closeout activities including punch list completion and turnover documentation.Client & Stakeholder RelationsServe as the primary field representative with clients, architects, engineers, property managers, and ownership teams.Provide regular project updates and communicate schedule impacts.Coordinate building management requirements, after-hours work, and tenant access needs.Foster strong relationships that contribute to repeat business opportunities.Schedule & Cost ManagementTrack labor productivity and subcontractor performance.Work closely with Project Managers to identify schedule risks and recovery plans.Assist with change order documentation and field verification.Monitor material deliveries and long-lead procurement items.Ensure efficient sequencing of work to maintain project milestones.Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate daily reports, site logs, and manpower reports.Document field conditions, delays, and change events.Coordinate inspections and maintain compliance records.Utilize project management software for reporting and communication.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
