This individual will play a key role in insurance administration, claims management, contract compliance, vendor oversight, and risk mitigation programs.

Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesRisk Management & Loss Prevention

  • Evaluate operational, construction, financial, and property-related risks.
  • Analyse incidents, claims data, and loss trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend preventative measures, training programmes, and process enhancements to minimise exposure.
  • Assist with enterprise-wide risk assessments and mitigation planning.



Insurance Programme Administration

  • Support policy placements, renewals, audits, and coverage reviews.
  • Coordinate with brokers and insurance carriers regarding policy requirements and changes.
  • Review insurance documentation, endorsements, limits, deductibles, and coverage provisions.
  • Maintain accurate insurance records and exposure schedules.



Claims Management

  • Assist in the administration of property, liability, workers' compensation, and construction-related claims.
  • Coordinate with adjusters, legal counsel, investigators, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor claim activity, documentation, reserves, and resolution timelines.
  • Track trends and identify opportunities to reduce future losses.



Contract & Vendor Compliance

  • Review contracts to ensure adequate insurance and risk transfer provisions.
  • Verify certificates of insurance and supporting documentation from vendors and contractors.
  • Support compliance monitoring for consultants, subcontractors, and service providers.
  • Identify contractual exposures and escalate concerns when appropriate.



Regulatory & Operational Compliance

  • Monitor relevant federal, state, and local regulations affecting property operations and development activities.
  • Provide guidance regarding incident reporting, record retention, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Support internal compliance efforts and risk-related reporting requirements.



Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain claims logs, compliance trackers, contract records, and insurance databases.
  • Prepare reports on risk metrics, insurance costs, emerging exposures, and mitigation efforts.
  • Assist leadership with risk-related presentations and strategic planning initiatives.



Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with teams across property management, construction, finance, accounting, human resources, technology, and legal functions.
  • Serve as a resource on risk management, insurance, and compliance matters.

The Successful Applicant

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Real Estate, Construction Management, Legal Studies, or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in risk management, insurance, claims administration, compliance, construction, property management, or related fields.
  • Working knowledge of commercial insurance policies and claims processes.
  • Experience reviewing contractual insurance and indemnification provisions.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.



Preferred

  • Experience supporting multifamily, mixed-use, commercial real estate, or construction operations.
  • Professional insurance, risk management, or compliance certifications.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards, construction risk management, and vendor compliance programmes.
  • Experience with insurance renewals, audits, claims systems, or property management platforms.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
