Job Description

The Commercial Construction Superintendent | Employee-Owned Company | Richmond, VA will:

  • Lead all field operations for commercial construction projects from groundbreaking through project completion.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders to maintain schedule and quality expectations.
  • Establish and enforce safety standards to create a productive and compliant jobsite environment.
  • Manage project schedules, sequencing, logistics, and daily construction activities.
  • Identify challenges proactively and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure subcontracted work meets contract requirements, quality standards, and project milestones.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, project teams, and trade partners.
  • Utilize construction management software and reporting tools to track progress and communicate updates.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation, site reports, and project records.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to field personnel while promoting a positive team culture.

The Successful Applicant

The Commercial Construction Superintendent | Employee-Owned Company | Richmond, VA will have:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Lead Superintendent managing commercial construction projects valued at $10M+.
  • Proven experience overseeing ground-up construction projects from start to finish for a general contractor.
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, scheduling, and field operations.
  • Demonstrated success implementing and enforcing jobsite safety programs.
  • Ability to solve complex construction challenges and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, and other construction technology platforms.
  • Strong ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, and project deliverables.
