Job Description

  • Estimating: Assist the Lead/Senior Estimator in preparing detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain organized cost breakdowns and bid spreadsheets using Excel.
  • Prepare, track, and distribute pre-bid RFIs to ensure clarity and accuracy throughout the bidding process.
  • Support the preparation of bid packages, invitations to bid, and subcontractor outreach.
  • Solicit and coordinate subcontractor pricing, ensuring complete and compliant submissions prior to bid deadlines.
  • Contribute to post-bid negotiations and project buy-out activities upon award.
  • Collaborate closely with estimating team members and support overall bid strategy execution.

The Successful Applicant

  • 3+ years of experience in construction estimating and/or project management, preferably within a general contractor environment and public sector projects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Foundational understanding of building systems including structural, civil, and MEP components.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, scheduling concepts, and building codes.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced bidding environment.
  • Ability to build relationships and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
