Job Description

This Automation and Controls Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Supporting plant-wide automation and controls systems.
  • Providing day-to-day controls support for manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshooting production, process, and equipment-related issues.
  • Upgrading and maintaining PLC, HMI, VFD, and controls infrastructure.
  • Driving continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
  • Managing controls-related changes and equipment modifications.
  • Supporting capital projects involving automation and controls systems.
  • Collaborating closely with mechanics, electricians, operations, and plant leadership.

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Automation and Controls Engineer will have"

  • 2+ years of controls or automation engineering experience.
  • Manufacturing controls experience required.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Ladder Logic, FactoryTalk, and VFDs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and plant support capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing environments; pulp & paper preferred.
