We are seeking a Development Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager to support and drive affordable housing development projects throughout the Boston area. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior development leadership while managing complex entitlement, financing, approval, and stakeholder coordination activities.

Job Description

The Development Project Manager is responsible for:

  • Manage affordable housing development projects from pre-development through execution.
  • Coordinate with municipal, state, and regulatory agencies throughout entitlement and approval processes.
  • Support and manage affordable housing financing applications, funding requirements, and compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, attorneys, lenders, architects, and community stakeholders.
  • Track development budgets, schedules, milestones, and project deliverables.
  • Facilitate meetings with government agencies, community groups, and project partners.
  • Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to keep projects moving forward.
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations, reports, and project documentation.
  • Support multiple development projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and schedule expectations.
  • Work directly with senior development leadership on strategic development initiatives and project execution.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Development Project Manager should have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of affordable housing development experience.
  • Direct affordable housing development experience in Massachusetts, with strong knowledge of the Boston market.
  • Understanding of affordable housing programs, funding structures, and financing mechanisms.
  • Experience working with city, state, and governmental agencies involved in affordable housing development.
  • Knowledge of entitlement, permitting, approval, and public funding processes.
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
