An established real estate investment and development organization is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Asset Management to lead oversight of a diversified portfolio of multifamily, supportive housing, and affordable housing assets.

Job Description

The Director of Asset Management will work closely with executive leadership, investment teams, property management partners, lenders and ownership groups to ensure assets are performing in line with business plans and investment strategies. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned real estate professional who enjoys balancing asset performance, financial analysis, portfolio strategy, operational oversight and team leadership. Reporting to senior leadership, you will play a key role in shaping portfolio strategy, driving value creation initiatives, and managing relationships with key stakeholders while overseeing a significant real estate portfolio.

  • Lead the strategic oversight and performance of a diversified portfolio of multifamily, supportive housing, and affordable housing assets
  • Monitor financial, operational, leasing, capital expenditure, and market performance across the portfolio
  • Identify and execute value creation initiatives that drive revenue growth, operational efficiencies, and asset appreciation
  • Develop and implement portfolio risk management strategies
  • Oversee portfolio reporting, performance analytics, and presentations for executive leadership and investment partners
  • Collaborate with acquisitions, development, finance, and property management teams to support investment objectives
  • Lead asset-level business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and hold/sell analyses
  • Manage refinancing, dispositions, restructurings, recapitalizations, and other strategic transactions
  • Build and maintain relationships with ownership groups, lenders, joint venture partners, brokers, and third-party operators

The Successful Applicant

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • 10+ years of asset management, affordable housing, multifamily, supportive housing, real estate investment, portfolio management, or real estate finance experience
  • Experience managing multifamily, supportive housing, affordable housing, or other residential real estate assets
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, budgeting, and portfolio analysis capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and analytical skills



Preferred

  • MBA, Master's degree, or equivalent advanced professional experience
  • Experience working with institutional owners, private equity firms, REITs, developers, nonprofit sponsors, or investment managers
  • Strong knowledge of affordable housing finance, debt structures, joint ventures, capital markets, and real estate transactions
  • Experience with LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, supportive housing programs, regulatory compliance, and public-private partnerships
  • Experience overseeing development projects, preservation initiatives, major capital programs, or asset repositioning strategies
  • Proficiency with ARGUS, Yardi, MRI, Power BI, Excel, and other portfolio management/reporting tools
