Job Description

  • Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale Azure cloud solutions across Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance, and other business functions
  • Drive a greenfield engineering initiative, establishing architecture, frameworks, standards, and best practices from the ground up
  • Remain deeply involved in technical design and software engineering activities, contributing code and solving complex technical challenges
  • Lead two small engineering teams while maintaining a player-coach leadership style
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering strong technical capability and career growth
  • Define modern application architecture patterns, reusable frameworks, and engineering standards
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable cloud solutions
  • Build integrations, APIs, data services, and cloud-native applications using the Microsoft Azure ecosystem
  • Identify and implement AI, GenAI, and intelligent automation opportunities using technologies such as Azure OpenAI and Copilot
  • Conduct architecture reviews and code reviews to ensure quality, scalability, and maintainability
  • Help shape the long-term cloud engineering strategy while remaining actively involved in delivery

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience leading software engineering teams in a hands-on technical leadership capacity
  • Strong expertise designing and building solutions within Microsoft Azure cloud environments
  • Experience developing cloud-native applications, integrations, APIs, serverless solutions, and enterprise platforms
  • Deep understanding of application architecture, software design patterns, frameworks, and modern engineering practices
  • Background leading multiple development workstreams while remaining close to the code
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and building high-performing technical teams
  • Knowledge of AI, GenAI, Azure OpenAI, Copilot, or intelligent automation solutions
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience delivering enterprise technology solutions within complex business environments
  • Prior exposure to .NET/C# development is beneficial but not the primary focus of the role
  • Hybrid working arrangement with 3 days per week in Midtown Manhattan. (They also have an office in Warren, NJ so there is flexiblity to work from that site from time to time if it happens to be more convenient)
